It is worth noting that it is one of the theories in modern criticism, and it is directly related to the theses of the Marxist trend, and it appears from its designation that it looks at literature as reflecting the issues in the society it talks about, making literature a mirror of reality and society, and the theory of reflection depends on Marxist materialism thought which is represented by the fact that literature is a reflection of social reality, but this reflection is not automatic, parallel, or simple, but rather a complex process since literary works representing reality may be in compliance with this reality and reconcile with it, or they may be a transcendental vision that seeks to change and destroy societal relations to build a better society, Among these works, we took George Orwell's 1984 dystopian novel, which represents a corrupt and terrifying world, an unvirtuous society ruled by chaos and absolute evil, and its most prominent features are devastation, murder, oppression, poverty and disease. In short, it is a world in which humans are stripped of their humanity and society turns into a group of mutants fighting each other
