Teachers’ And Students’ Perspectives Towards The Use Of Web-based Technologies To Enhance Speaking Skills Of Efl Students.

Résumé: This study aims to investigate the impact of utilizing web-based technologies outside the traditional classroom setting on the development of 3rd year EFL students' speaking skills proficiency of Mila University Centre. That’s to say how crucial it is technology useful beyond the classroom to improve their speaking skill, considering the psychological status of both teachers and the students. Questions were raised about the teacher's and student's perspectives towards the use and support of web-based tools for the aim of enhancing the speaking skills of EFL students and which technology do they prefer and What are the impacts of web-based instruction on the development of speaking skills from the perspectives of both teachers and students. Seventeen questions of the student questionnaire is given to third year students, and another with thirteen questions is given to teachers at the Department of Letters and English Language in University of AbdElhafid Boussouf Mila during the academic year (2023-2024), to figure out how interested they are in using technology, as well as how they feel about the influence of technologies in enhancing the speaking skill beyond the classroom. The results show that teachers see grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary were the key areas of focus for speaking and group discussions were the most successful method of teaching speaking, giving value web-based resources for enhancing the speaking skills. Further studies are recommended to investigate the lack of proficiency speaking at this level in relation to the other skills by detecting early stages of the looseness and giving intensive practical activities, regarding the requirements and the mutual perspective.
