Résumé: This study, entitled "The Role of Bank Guarantees in Covering Foreign Trade Risks," addressed the issue of the role of bank guarantees in promoting foreign trade A case study was carried out at the level of the Algerian Foreign Bank an agency that recognized the method of the case study and the documents submitted by the Bank, and the most important results showed that bank guarantees provide good conduct for foreign trade operations and preserve the rights of dealers, as they are a non-retroactive undertaking issued by banks and cover to a large extent the various risks associated with this type of transaction, in addition to being considered a tool for international payment of the compensation and facilities it provides in this field, but it faces difficulties in its application due to the different laws applied in each country, and the centralized system applied by banks limits the freedom of banking agencies to grant guarantees, which may reduce their contribution to the development of foreign trade
