ثورة الماوماو ضد التواجد الاستعماري البريطاني في كينيا (1952-1956م)

Résumé: The Mau Mau revolt against the British colonial presence in Kenya (1952-1956) is one of the greatest revolutions of the twentieth century, as the Kikuyu tribe and the general Kenyan people rose up against the arbitrary policies of the colonizer that covered various areas, and to counter these events the British authorities launched a series of military operations against the Mau Mau rebels Thousands of innocent citizens were killed, and many members of the National Liberation Movement were thrown into prisons such as Jomo Kenyatta. Although the occupation authorities managed to quell the Mau Mau revolution, the sacrifices made by the Kenyan people contributed to internationalizing their cause in front of world opinion, and made Britain was also forced to launch independence negotiations, which culminated in the restoration of national sovereignty. تعد ثورة الماوماو ضد التواجد الاستعماري البريطاني في كينيا (1952-1956م) من أعظم الثورات في القرن العشرين، حيث انتفضت قبيلة الكيكويو وعموم الشعب الكيني ضد سياسات المستعمر التعسفية التي شملت مختلف المجالات، ولمواجهة هذه الأحداث شنت السلطات البريطانية سلسلة من العمليات العسكرية الوحشية ضد ثوار الماوماو راح ضحيتها عشرات الآلاف من الأهالي الأبرياء، كما تم الزج بالعديد من أعضاء حركة التحرر الوطني في السجون أمثال جومو كينياتا، ورغم تمكن القوات الإستعمارية البريطانية من إخماد ثورة الماوماو إلا أن التضحيات الجسام التي قدمها أبناء كينيا ساهمت في تدويل قضيتهم أمام الرأي العالمي، وبذلك أجبرت بريطانيا على بعث مفاوضات الإستقلال والتي توجت باسترجاع السيادة الوطنية.
