Students And Digital Screens: Media Consumption And Reading Habits Before And After The Summer Holidays

Résumé: this study explores how students at Badji Mokhtar University – Annaba navigate their media habits, particularly their interactions with digital screens and reading, before and after the summer holidays. Grounded in Mediatization Theory and the Uses and Gratifications Theory, the research looks into how students’ everyday media choices evolve over time. The results highlight a clear shift: after the summer break, students tend to spend more time on digital devices and own more of them, while traditional book reading and personal book collections noticeably decline.
