If the Constitutional Court finds that any law or government action is in conflict with the constitution, it may annul, correct, or amend such law or decision. In general, the existence of an effective and independent Constitutional Court is essential to strengthening the rule of law and ensuring the proper distribution of powers between the branches of government, thus strengthening democracy and protecting the rights of citizens.
