الجغرافية العمرانية الحضرية والريفية لمدينة المدية خلال العهد العثماني ودور وثائق الأوقاف في إبراز معالمها/urban And Rural Geography Of The City Of Medea During The Ottoman Era And The Role Of Endowment (waqfs) Documents In Highlighting Its Features

Résumé: شكلت المصادر الأجنبية أحد أهم المصادر التي اعتمد عليها المؤرخون في دراسة الجغرافيا الريفية والحضرية للمدن الجزائرية عموما ومدينة المدية خصوصا في العهد العثماني. حيث قدمت لنا هذه المصادر وصفا دقيقا وشاملا لا مثيل له في المصادر العربية، وتناولت بالتفصيل البيئة الحضرية ومظاهرها، والمرافق والمؤسسات المنتشرة فيها، وأنشطة وعادات السكان داخل وخارج أسوار المدينة على مستوى المدينة. ولكن، عجزت هذه المصادر في كثير من الأحيان عن تقديم تفاصيل أخرى لا تقل أهمية، مثل الأنشطة السكانية وملكية العقارات، وأسماء المواقع الجغرافية. ويمكن استكمال هذه الفجوات بالعودة إلى دراسة وثائق الوقف كمصادر تكميلية. ومن الجدير بالذكر أن المصادر الأجنبية تهيمن عليها النظرة الاستشراقية، في حين تتميز وثائق الوقف بأنها وثائق قانونية لا تخضع لآراء من يكتبونها، وتتمتع بمستوى عال من المصداقية تفتقر إليه المصادر الأجنبية والمحلية هي الأخرى. تكشف وثائق الأوقاف وأحكام القضاة المتعلقة بها عن الكثير من المعلومات الدقيقة حول كيفية تنظيم المدن والقرى، وكيفية سير الحياة اليومية فيها، وتشكل وثائق الأوقاف لمدينة المدية في العهد العثماني نموذجاً رائعاً، وقد تم حفظ هذه الوثائق في مركز الأرشيف الوطني بالجزائر، وفي مركز الأرشيف الخارجي بفرنسا. فإلى أي مدى يستطيع الباحث رسم ملامح الجغرافيا الحضرية والريفية لمدينة المدية في العهد العثماني من خلال وثائق الوقف؟ وإلى أي مدى يستطيع أن ينجح من خلال وثائق الوقف في سد ثغرات البحث والفجوات العميقة في المصادر التاريخية التي أرّخت للمدينة، سواء المحلية أو الأجنبية؟ Foreign sources constituted one of the most important sources used by historians in studying the rural and urban geography of Algerian cities in general and the city of Medea in particular during the Ottoman era. These sources provided us with an accurate and comprehensive description that is unparalleled in Arab sources. They addressed in detail the urban environment and its manifestations, the facilities and institutions spread throughout it, and the activities and customs of the population inside and outside the city walls at the level of the city. However, they were often unable to provide other details that were no less important as population activities, real estate ownership and names of geographical locations. These gaps can be complete by returning to the study of endowment documents as complementary sources. It is worth noting that foreign sources are dominate by the orientalist view, while waqfs documents are distinguished by being legal documents that are not subject to the viewpoints of those who write them and enjoy a high level of credibility that other foreign and local sources lack. Waqfs documents and judges’ rulings related to them reveal a lot of precise information about how cities and villages were organized and how daily life took place in them. The waqfs documents of the city of Medea during the Ottoman period are a wonderful example. These documents are preserve in the National Archives Center in Algeria and in the overseas ِ Archives Center in France. To what extent can the researcher draw the features of the urban and rural urban geography of the city of Medea during the Ottoman period through endowment documents? To what extent can he succeed through the waqfs documents filling the research gaps and deep gaps in the historical sources that documented the city, both local and foreign?
