تنافسية الصناعات الصيدلانية في دول شمال افريقيا

Résumé: The pharmaceutical industry is one of the main industries in the world as more countries seek to develop and promote constantly. It is a strategic activity as it concerns people’s well-being and protects public health. It also represents a considerable added-value to the national economy through export or direct investment. For these reasons, developing countries and specifically North African countries focus their efforts to develop this sector by improving competitiveness conditions; moreover this industry knows a deep competition from multinational pharmaceutical oligopolies. Despite the recent experience of North African countries in the In the Pharmaceutical domain they have installed Pharmaceutical industrial base with some manufacturing units to overcome the deficit in the domestic market of local products and substitution of imported products. In this paper we will present the pharmaceutical characteristics at global and Arabic level and we will try to compare some competitiveness indices for each country in order to have a general conclusion.
