Résumé: يعتبر الرجوع عن الخطبة من أهم مباحث الخطبة حيث يمكن للرجل أن يغير رأيه في المخطوبة التي يريد أن يرتبط بها لسبب من الأسباب وقد يكون السبب وجيها أو غير وجيه ، كما يمكن للمرأة أن ترجع في رأيها في الخاطب لأي سبب من الأسباب ، وقد يكون هناك تعسف من الرجل أو المرأة في استعمال حقهما في العدول ، كما وضح كلا من الشرع والقانون الأثار المترتبة عن العدول سواء كان من الرجل أو المرأة ، وقد يكون العدول في المهر والحق المنصب للرجل والمرأة فيه ، وقد يكون أيضا العدول في الهدايا ، ونتيجة لوجود الضرر الذي حصل سواء للخاطب أو المخطوبة نتيجة تعسف أحدهما عن الآخر فإن كلا من الشرع والقانون رتبا تعويضا نتيجة ذلك الضرر ، وقد يكون الضرر ماديا أو معنويا . Whether for the fiancé or the fiancée as a result of the abuse of one of them on behalf of the other, both Sharia and the law have arranged compensation as a result of that harm, and the damage may be material or moral.
