Résumé: This study examines the key concepts of Edgar Morin's philosophy, including the concept of crisis. Morin began his analysis by criticizing Western modernity and its rational project, which is related to the foundations that classical science relied on in building knowledge. This crisis is due to the simplification of knowledge, which made it rely on a one-dimensional view, leading to a closed and narrow understanding. From here, Morin arrived at a complex vision with an open structure, which seeks to find links between all sciences, despite their differences. Therefore, the crisis is the moment when the uncertainty within complex knowledge is taken into account, the moment when uncertainty appears alongside turbulence. Thus, the crisis means making a decision after hesitation and turbulence, in order to bring about change.
