Obama's Middle East Challenges

Résumé: The current American president Barack Obama came into office in 2003, with an overloaded agenda for the Middle-East, but he failed to carry out most of this goals. What were th reasons behind this failure? Several constraints limited Obama's ability to achieve his objectives. The first one was the financial crisis which absorbed most of Obama's political emergy and shifted his interest away from the Middle East. The second obstacle was the nature of the American Political System and the resistance that Obama encountered from most of the strong traditional political elements. The last one was the unexpected political developments that took place in the Middle East including the rise to power of a radical right in Israel, the uprisings in some Arab countries. the emergence of DAESH phenomenon and finally the recent rapprochement between United States and Iran
