Résumé: This study deals with three axes related to the socio-regional and urban aspects of the city of Ouargla, the capital of the Algerian desert metropolitan areas, in an anthropological approach that seeks a comprehensive understanding of the urbanization of Ouargla in its spatial and social dimensions, based on historical data and arriving at its contemporary reality, linking the past with the present within the anthropological process, the social transformations And the area that the city of Ouargla knew, produced new urban formations incomplete features, especially after the final settlement of Bedouin groups in the seventies of the last century, and then witnesses another urban formation after its transformation into the most important economic pole in the homeland after the nationalization of hydrocarbons in 1971, and the influx of large numbers of various The regions of the homeland in search of job opportunities. Today, the city of Ouargla is characterized by social diversity and my identities, with a multi-style urban peculiarity, which has produced a dialectical relationship between the urban sphere and the social identity.
