Summary: The memorandum studied the main entrances of the palaces in the M'zab Valley plain in Algeria, focusing on the palaces of Beni Isguen and Melika as models to understand defensive architecture. The study relied on historical, descriptive, and analytical methods to determine the architectural characteristics of these entrances and the impact of social diversity and urban expansion on them. The materials used in construction included local stones, "tameshmet" (local clay), lime, and palm trunks. The study highlighted the architectural development over time and the importance of the entrances as key defensive elements in the design of the palaces.
