Résumé: إن التغيير الجذري في اتجاه اللسانيات الوصفية حدث سنة 1957، عندما أصدر تشومسكي كتابه الشهير البنى التركيبية، SYNTACTIC STRUCTURE معلنا بذلك عن منهج جديد في دراسة اللغة، أطلق عليه القواعد التوليدية التحويلية، وقد أحدث هذا التيار ثورة في عالم اللسانيات، فجاء بمفاهيم ومصطلحات جديدة، إلا أن هذه المفاهيم كانت مستعملة في النحو العربي؛ لكنها لم توظف كمصطلحات مضبوطة.
