Résumé: The current study aims to identify addiction to social networking sites and its impact on academic achievement. To verify the study's hypotheses, which describes the phenomenon and then analyzes it on a sample of 60 male and female students who were selected using a purposive sampling method. To achieve the objectives of the study, a design was made. Measured by the two researchers under the supervision of the professor. It consists of 18 items and was judged by peer reviewers to verify its psychometric properties. The study was calculated using statistical methods, including social packages (SPSS), percentage; and k-Squared statistical significance test. The study reached the following results: -There are no statistically significant differences between the sexes in addiction to social networking sites, Except for the period of use, Where the difference between the sexes in the evening period was in favor of females. -Social networking sites effect academic achievement, and this effect is mostly positive, according to the responses of the sample members. Among the most important suggestions reached by the study: -Parents and families must monitor their children so that they do not reach the point of addiction to social networking sites. -Reducing access to social media platforms, in addition to setting special and short times to access websites.
