Teaching Grammar To E.f.l Young Learners In Middle Schools Of Adrar
Résumé: This research work aims at investigating the actual situation of teaching grammar to EFL young learners in middle schools of Adrar. It focuses on the way first and second years of middle school pupils are taught grammar using the competency based approach. In order to do that, this research work is divided into two chapters; the first one is devoted to defining the basic concepts of teaching grammar. It also deals with the approaches and strategies of teaching grammar to young learners. The second chapter is about the situation of teaching grammar in Adrar. Various instruments of collecting data are used in this case study, analyzing the contents of first and second years’ textbooks, in addition to teachers and learners’ questionnaires. This work attempts to identify the first and the second years of middle school teachers and pupils’ difficulties in teaching/ learning grammar respectively, discovering the reasons behind these difficulties, in order to overcome them through analyzing the findings of the questionnaires.
