Résumé: The present research aims at answering the question of whether or not working with metacognitive strategies in cooperative groups would lead to the enhancement of EFL learners’ grammar competence. Hence, an experimental research was conducted with second year LMD students of English at the University Center Ahmed SALHI, Naama. The idea was to make students of the experimental group work with formal cooperative learning, and let the ones of the control group work individually
