The Implications Of President Macron’s Declaration On “audin’s Death” (2018)on Franco-algerian Reconciliation: A Contrapuntal Reading

Résumé: Using Edward Said’s approach of contrapuntal reading, the article demystifies the “univocal” French official narrative about the Franco-Algerian relations during and after the Algerian war of independence. Most importantly, the article scrutinizes President Macron declaration on the death of Maurice Audin to demonstrate the unwaveringly unidirectional French historical narrative that assertively excludes any pluralized perspective to the Franco-Algerian history. The article, thus, seeks to uncover that French univocal narrative about French role in “colonized” Algeria is inherently insufficient to convey the thorough truth about the relationship between the former colonizer (i.e. France) and the former colonized (i.e. Algeria). : باستخدام منهج القراءة الطباقية لإدوارد سعيد، يسعى المقال إلى دحض المزاعم التي تنطوي عليها السردية الرسمية الفرنسية «الأحادية» حول العلاقات الفرنسية الجزائرية أثناء وبعد حرب الاستقلال الجزائرية و التي تنبع من قراءة أحادية للتاريخ من جانب المستعمر. من خلال القراءة الطباقية لتصريح الرئيس ماكرون بشأن وفاة أودان،يبرز المقال خبايا الرواية التاريخية الفرنسية التي تندرج تحت لواء خطاب المركزية الغربية المفعم بالسيطرة و الإستعلاء و الذي يستبعد أي سردية موازية. كما تصبو الدراسة إلى إبراز أن الرواية الفرنسية الأحادية حول الدور الفرنسي في الجزائر المستعمرة غير كافية بطبيعتها لنقل حقيقة العلاقة بين المستعمر السابق( أي فرنسا) و المستعمر السابق( أي الجزائر)
