Mémoire, Violence Et Transmission Dans Le Roman Algérien Des Années 90 Le Cas De "les Agneaux Du Seigneur" Et "à Quoi Rêvent Les Loups" De Yasmina Khadra

Résumé: The theme of violence unfolds in the Algerian literature in French in a variety of conflict contexts, including the ideological, political, historical or identity settings, yet it was especially around the nineties that the theme of blood has developed into a swamping subject in this literature. As a consequence, the novel has become a preferred instrument for the construction and transmission of the memory of different forms of violence. This thesis sets out to scrutinize the way a work of fiction builds and transmits the memory of violence. This involves the examination of how an author manages, on the basis of determined literary forms, to make the novel an "effector" and / or a "catalyst" of memory, a bearer of violence traces. To conduct this study, we have derived our concepts from various disciplines which compose the broad field of humanities and literature, namely, sociology, history, text linguistics, narratology, social criticism. . . It is thus an eclectic approach that we have pursued. To fulfill our purpose and for the sake of clarity, we opted for a plan involving four chapters: The first chapter establishes the framework in which the links between violence, memory, history and literature are entwined. The second chapter positions the corpus under examination in its socio-political and literary context. The third chapter analyzes the paratextual strategies employed by Yasmina KHADRA to construct and transmit to the reader the memory of violence. The last chapter treats the textual strategies utilized by the author to convey to mankind a commemorative heritage on violence, marking Algeria during the nineties.
