Résumé: تُبرز الكتابات الأجنبيّة عن الجزائر منذ مطلع القرن التاسع عشر، تصوّرا شاملا عن الجزائر، خاصة في فترة بداية الاحتلال الفرنسي، ومقاومة الأمير عبد القادر، كما جاءت الكتابات الألمانية في سياق البحث عن فرص جديدة، فالعديد منهم جاء كمرتزق، أو طبيب؛ مهندس ... ممن رافقوا الحملة الفرنسية على الجزائر، رغبة منهم في تحسين أوضاعهم المادية، أو إرضاءً للشغف الاستكشاف العلمي، نتج عنها رصيد متنوع من المعارف، كان الغرض منها في الغالب خدمة الإدارة والجيش الفرنسي، أو تقديم توصيات للألمان الجدد الراغبين للسفر إلى الجزائر، إن الهدف من هذه الدراسة هو إبراز أهمية ما كتبه النخب الألمانية. والتي تضمنت تفاصيل هامة عن الجزائر، ودولة الأمير عبد القادر، بدأً من صفاته الخَلقية والخُلقية، إلى ذكر تفاصيل عن تكوين دولته فيكل المجالات، تتخللها الكثير من الأبحاث المستقلة وتقديم ملاحظات عامة عن الجزائر. Foreign writings on Algeria since the nineteenth century highlight a comprehensive vision of the situation of the Algerians, especially in the last period of the Ottoman rule, the beginning of the French occupation, and the resistance of the state of El Emir Abdelkader. The writings of the Germans came in the context of searching for new opportunities.
