Résumé: This study aims to define the science fiction literature among the Arab and occidental worlds in terms of origins, creation, concept and characteristics. We have also considered its obstacles among the Arabs and proposed some solutions to develop it. This study concludes to a set of results namely: the variety of the origins of this literature(legendary, utopic, and religious) and the difficulty of determining and distinguishing its concept from the other literatures through the novel entitled “His Majesty the Great Father” by Habib Mounsi.
