Gaz Naturel Dans Le Secteur Des Transports : Un Vecteur De Transition
Résumé: Natural gas is one of the safest and cleanest fossil fuel sources. While the Algerian transport sector depends entirely on fossil fuels (gasoline / diesel), which generate harmful emissions of greenhouse gases and have a negative impact on the environment and public health, such as CO2, SOX, PM and NOx. This work is a perspective study on the role that natural gas can play in the transport sector, in the form of liquefied petroleum gas and compressed natural gas. In order to reduce the dependence of the latter on conventional energies, as well as greenhouse gas emissions. Through the designed scenarios, extrapolating the existing data to 2050, we noticed that CNG and LPG can be factors of clean energy transition for a gas-producing country like ours. Gasoline and diesel consumption can be subtracted from very acceptable levels, as the estimated saving of 12,231 gasoline and 9,958 diesel in 2050 in the strong scenario, and therefore carbon dioxide emissions are reduced by 3.6% and nitrogen oxides by 50%.
