Résumé: الملخص: يهدف هذا البحث إلى تتبّع إيتوس (صورة) "ابن عبّاس" في المناظرة، باعتباره ذات متكلّمة تروم إقناع المخاطَب (الخوارج). وتكمن أهميّته في الكشف عن مدى أهميّة هذه الإستراتيجية في الإقناع، وفي تسليط الضّوء عن إستراتيجيّة حجاجيّة كثيرا ما تهمل في الدّراسات الحجاجيّة العربيّة. الكلمات المفتاحية: إيتوس، إقناع، مناظرة، ابن عبّاس، الخوارج، حجاج. Abstract: The present research seeks to trace the persuasion strategy that is known as ethos (the image) in the debate of "Ibn Abbas", as the speaker intends to convince the addressee (the Kharijites), using this strategy. The importance of this research is found in revealing the extent of the importance of this strategy in persuasion, and in shedding light on the argumentative strategy that is often neglected in Arab argumentative studies.
