Résumé: The objective of this work is the study of the effect of chromium plating on the mechanical and structural characteristics of a low-alloy steel of the type (XC100) heat-treated (tempering, tempering and annealing) and followed by a surface treatment ( electrolytic polishing then a hard chromium plating). To carry out this work I am the technique of structural and mechanical cratering are realized, namely metallographic observations by optical microscope; .tensile tests, resilience tests and hardness measurements
