Education And Gender Issues In Mary Wollstonecraft's A Vindication Of The Rights Of Woman And Malala Yousefzai's I Am Malala
Résumé: This research which is entitled Education and Gender Issues in Mary Wollstonecraft’s and Malala‘s writings attempts to investigate Mary Wollstonecraft’s and Malala Yousafzai’s views about gender issues and their direct relation to education. This research focalizes on showing how did A Vindication of the Rights of Woman, the first female rhetorical work, shake the British patriarchal mentality and how I am Malala, the inspiring story that tells about the struggle of a young and brave girl, dare to challenge the Taliban and their established regime. Our comparative research focuses on education as one of the remedies, as it is documented in both works, which may make an end to gender discrepancies.. Hence, in this research, by applying the Feminist and the New historicist theories, we have revealed that Wollstonecraft, one of pioneers of feminism, more than two hundred years later, exercised a considerable influence on the Pakistani Malala Yousefzai who followed in her footsteps to vindicate Pakistani girls’ right to education.
