Résumé: By 1859, Dickens’s historical novel, A Tale of Two Cities, was published in serial form in the periodical All the Year Around. Dickens’s major concern in the novel was historical, revealing the aspects of the French revolution. Being interested in the social problems of his time, Dickens also included some aspects of the Victorian society. How does A Tale of Two Cities integrated between history and literature? How does the novel reveal the evils of the Victorian period?
