Etude Du Périmetre D'irrigation D'ain Houtz (100 Ha) À Partir De La Step Commune De Chetouane (w. Tlemcen)
Résumé: Water management is a major issue in Algeria. The study "Study of the Irrigation Perimeter of Ain Houtz (100 Ha) from the Purification Station of the Municipality of Chetouane, Wilaya of Tlemcen" focuses on Ain El Houtz, where traditional irrigation of farmland is carried out on an individual basis using local resources. The main objective is to improve the use of agricultural land in this region by rationalizing the use of both conventional and alternative water resources. The technique chosen to achieve this objective is drip irrigation. At the heart of this study is the design of a distribution network adapted to the identified needs. After evaluating various approaches for this network, we opted for 18-hour-a-day operation, aiming for 60% operational efficiency. However, the flow rate required for this network exceeds the available water capacity; to make up for this shortfall, the addition of a 1,000-cubic-meter reservoir is planned, to be recharged during network interruptions. In addition, the infrastructure for collecting and transporting water to the study area has been designed to ensure optimum management of the resources required for this high-performance irrigation system.
