Résumé: In our research, we dealt with lamentation, which is one of the poetic purposes that is characterized by its sincere and poignant feelings, whichh makes it very close to the human soul in lamentation. Our study consisted of an introduction and two chapters, where we defined in the introduction the stylistic language and lamentation, its language, terminology, and its topics. Then we discussed in the first chapter the vocal level in elegies. Ibn al-Rumi and al-Muhalhal from narration, meter, rhyme, alliteration, and repetition. The second chapter, which was titled the syntactic and semantic level, in which we studied the declarative and structural methods, the rhetorical images, and the semantic fields of the two poets
