Résumé: Our study focuses on the evaluation of the Algerian textbook for the third year of secondary school, with a particular emphasis on the content of the third-year history project manual. The objective is to comprehend how this manual contributes to students' learning and whether it meets their narrative skills needs. Additionally, the study examines how the manual addresses cultural and narrative diversity in Algerian education, along with its role in promoting critical thinking and historical analysis of events. From another perspective, this dissertation explores how teachers transition from narratology to didactics in narrative instruction, emphasizing the reading and writing practices found in the manual. The aim is to prepare students for the study of university-level texts and to examine approaches and strategies for foreign language education, underscoring the significance of writing in language acquisition. Finally, this dissertation delves into the transformation of narratology into a didactic exercise for teaching stories in various educational contexts, analyzing the reading and writing strategies employed in the curriculum
