Résumé: لعلَّ المطالع للنقد العربي القديم يجد أنَّه قد اهتمَّ اهتماما عجيبا بكل ما يخصُّ الشعر العربي، من خلال جوانبه الشكلية والمضمونية، بحيث لا نجد ناقدا لم يتناول الشعر العربي بوجه من الوجوه، منذ أول كتاب نقديٍّ؛ طبقات فحول الشعراء حتى وقتنا هذا، ولعلَّ من بين القضايا المتعلقة بالشعر، التي استأثرت باهتمام النقاد هي تحديد مفهومه وماهيته وحقيقته، بحيث تنوعت الآراء واختلفت، لتنوع واختلاف المرجعيات المعرفية والأسس النقدية، التي بنوا من خلالها تصوراتهم، من هذا المنطلق سيحاول هذا المقال تناول هذه القضية بتركيز واختصار، بحيث تتبين من خلاله مذاهب النقاد في هذه القضية.
