The article aims to understand the contexts that shape individuals' linguistic identity and how it is developed through social interactions. It also reflects the importance of language as a tool of expressing belonging and social interaction, where language use plays a vital role in building social relationships and reinforcing cultural identity. The study also addresses how broader social factors such as culture and technology impact language use in societies which lead to changes in individuals' linguistic identity. Technological advancements, for example, have made communication across different languages easier and widespread. Such things have directly affected the shaping of our linguistic identity. In the end, the article shows the importance of understanding the strong relationship between language and belonging in achieving cultural understanding and promoting social cohesion. Understanding this relationship helps building multicultural societies and peaceful coexistence. The linguistic understanding enables us to have a deeper understanding of others and enhance effective communication between individuals and communities.
