Résumé: The aim of this study is to identify the reasons behind students' reluctance to attend lectures and its relationship to teaching methods used by professors at Kasdi Merbah University in Ouargla, specifically in the Department of Demography. The researcher adopted a descriptive methodology, which aims to describe the phenomenon, gather facts, and interpret them in order to analyze this phenomenon sociologically and get closer to reality. To achieve this, the following main question was posed: Does it affect the attendance of lectures? This falls under the following sub-questions: What is the benefit of attending lectures at the university? What teaching methods are used by the professor during the lecture? Does the professor's presentation style affect student attendance or reluctance? The researcher relied on the questionnaire as a data collection tool, as it is one of the most important scientific research methods. The study sample consisted of 109 randomly selected students. After analyzing and interpreting the collected data through the questionnaire, the study revealed several results, including: The professor's lack of interest in attendance or absence. Students' reluctance due to discrimination by the professor. Students' reluctance due to the professor's poor interaction with students. Students' reluctance due to the professor's lack of familiarity with all aspects of the lecture.
