Hip-hop And Resistance: The Case Study Of Tupac Shakur Against America

Résumé: Abstract This research aims at exploring the way Tupac Shakur addresses social and racial issues of the African- American community. Also, the dissertation examines the social and political activism of the American hip-hop singer. Our research concerns itself with analyzing some songs of Tupac. A content analysis of the songs has been carried out by focusing on the lyrics, the cover arts, the music videos, the literary motifs and tropes of the songs. We have also paid attention to the reception of the songs by relying on several reports written by music critics. We want ako to examine the way hip hop music is used as an effective tool to reflect on the social conditions of African-American community.
