Abstract The United Nations Sub-Commission on the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights is the main subsidiary body of the Commission on Human Rights. Originally called “Sub-Commission on the Fight against Discrimination and Protection of Minorities”, it was created in 1947 and renamed in 1999. The main task of the Sub-Commission is to carry out studies on human rights issues, to make recommendations with regard to the prevention of all forms of discrimination in the area of human rights and fundamental freedoms and the protection of racial and national minorities, religious and linguistic rights, but in view of the development of environmental rights It has become imperative for The Sub-Commission to pay attention to the relationship between human rights and the environment in order to achieve the objective of protecting human rights.
