Etude D'élimination D'un Polluant Industriel Sur Une Argile Modifiée
Résumé: The depollution of contaminated water is a necessity that must be taken into account in order to protect the environment and preserve the human health. As part of this work, we have tried to quantify the adsorbent capacity of a chemically activated clay called Bentonite with in order to remove violet dye widely used in the textile industry. The study was focused on the optimization of different physicochemical parameters that can affect the adsorption mechanism. The results show that the chemical activation by NH4Cl improved the adsorption capacity of bentonite. The maximum removal rate was obtained at acidic pH, with an equilibrium time of 10 min. The modeling of adsorption kinetics and isotherms are well described respectively by the pseudo-second order model and the Freundlich model. The thermodynamic parameters reveal that the adsorption process of the violet dye on the raw and activated bentonite is non-spontaneous, unfavorable and exothermic.
