Synthèse Et Étude Des Propriétés Inhibitrices D’une Nouvelle Base De Schiff Et Son Amine Pour L’acier C45 En Milieu Agressif

Résumé: A novel Schiff base 1, 13-bis-[(4-dimethylamino) benzaldehyde 4, 7, 10-trioxatridecane-diimine] (DABT) was prepared, and its characterization was carried out using FT-IR, mass spectroscopy (MS), 1HNMR and 13CNMR. The effectiveness of the organic compound DABT, which is simple, cost-effective, and ecofriendly, as a corrosion inhibitor for C45 carbon steel and its derivative AM in a 1 M HCl solution was assessed using weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) techniques.The results indicate that the corrosion inhibitory effectiveness rises with increasing inhibitor concentration and decreases as the temperature rises. The polarization studies show that both DABT and AM act as mixed-type inhibitors and adhere to the Langmuir adsorption isotherm. Contact angle measurements indicated that the inhibitor creates a hydrophobic layer on the carbon steel surface. Additionally, the synergistic effect of DABT was explored, revealing that its inhibitory efficiency improves as the concentration of KI increases due to competitive adsorption, which forms a protective layer on the metallic surface. Energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) coupled with scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used to interpret the surface morphology of C45 steel. A strong agreement was observed between the theoretical results obtained [Density Functional Theory (DFT) and molecular dynamics simulations (MDS)] and the experimental data.
