Scrutinizing The Textbook Content Suitability And Its Impact On Efl Learners: The Case Of Third Year Primary School English Textbook
Résumé: English language is considered the most common language in all around the world. It is one of the most dominant languages in the world which is having an impact on every field of life. In most countries, the English language is the most studied a second language due to its importance and being the language of science, technology and communication. In 2022, the English language has been integrated in Algerian primary schools specifically in 3rd year. Learning a foreign language apparently allows the learners to develop their mental abilities and acquire social and economic opportunities. Indeed, learning foreign languages especially the English language depends mostly on textbook which is the main issue of our research. It is the main tool that should be used in classrooms. This study scrutinizes the appropriateness of textbook content namely “My book of English” and its impact on 3rd year primary school pupils. It aims at finding out whether a new English textbook is suitable for leaner‟s competency.
