The Role Of Creative Writing In Asserting A National Identity Amid Ideologies Of Mimicry, Neocolonialism And Displacement In Wright’s Native Son, Salih’s Season Of Migration To The North, Ngugi’s Matigari, And Mosteghanemi’s The Bridges Of Constantine

Résumé: الملخص (بالعربية): تَهدف هذه الدراسة إلى مقاربة نقدية لِما تَحوزُه الكتابة الإبداعيّة - روايةُ ما بعد الكولونياليّة على وجه التحديد- من عظيم الأثر في تشكيل ملامح الهويّة الوطنيّة وأبعادها، في أمريكا عشيّة التحرّر من ظاهرة الرقّ، وفي السودان وكينيا، وفي الجزائر غداة الاستقلال، وهذا على هدي مُدوّنة تشمل أربعة أعمال روائيّة؛ "ابن البلد" لـِ ريتشارد رايت، وَ"موسم الهجرة إلى الشمال" لـِ الطيب صالح، و"ماتيغاري" لـِ نجوجي واثيونجو، "وجسور قسنطينة" لـِ أحلام مستغانمي. ذلك أنّه قد واكبتْ تشكّلَ الهويّة الوطنيّة تلك، تيّاراتٌ هائلة من الخطابات المضادّة تتعلّق بـِ"محاكاة المستعمر" وكذا "الاستعمار الجديد" و"التغريب"، ما وقف حاجزا حقيقيّا أمام بلورة وعيٍ وطنيّ لأمّة ظلّت تبحث عن معالم هوّيتها الوطنيّة. الكلمات المفتاحية : الكتابة إبداعية؛ ما بعد الكولونيالية؛ بناء الهوية القومية؛ تشابه؛ الاستعمار الجديد. الإزاحة؛ الوعي القومي الحمولة السياسة للغة ---------------------------------------------- Résumé (en Français) : La présente thèse examine le rôle crucial que l'écriture créative joue dans l'affirmation des identités nationales en Amérique noir, au Soudan, en Algérie et en Kenya. Cette étude s’inscrit plutôt dans le cadre des études comparatives ; les quatre œuvres de fiction Native Son, Season of Migration to the North, Matigari, The Bridges of Constantine, respectivement, écrites par Richard Wright, Tayeb Salih, Ngugi wa Thiong’o et Ahlem Mosteghanemi, traitent la question du postcolonialisme et discutent la politique linguistique qui est symbiotiquement liée à la l'harmonie existant entre nationalisme, culture, littérature. Cette thèse retrace la manière dont les différents auteurs interrogent le discours néocolonial et ses effets néfastes sur l'individu et la nation, comme ils touchent profondément au concept de déplacement et le considèrent comme une préoccupation nationale majeure du roman postcoloniale. Les mots clés : écriture créative; postcolonialisme; construction identitaire ; nationalisme; mimétisme; néocolonialisme; déplacement; conscience nationale; politique linguistique ---------------------------------------------- Abstract (en Anglais) : The present thesis scrutinizes the crucial role that creative writing– the postcolonial novel in particular– plays in asserting national identities in post-emancipation African America and post-independent Sudan, Kenya and Algeria through analysing four works of fiction: Native Son, Season of Migration to the North, Matigari, and The Bridges of Constantine, written respectively by Richard Wright, Tayeb Salih, Ngugi wa Thiong’o, and Ahlem Mosteghanemi. Amid the tremendously sweeping currents of subversive discourses of mimicry, neocolonialism and displacement that circulate and collide with the challenges of nationhood, the postcolonial individuals were, and still are, cautious when it comes to the authenticity of independence.
