Résumé: تتناول هذه المذكرة - فضاء المدينة ودلالته السوسيو ثقافية في رواية قداس الكاردينال للكاتب الجزائري سليم بتقة - حيث تبرز كيف تحولت المدينة من خلفية محايدة إلى عنصر فاعل في تشكيل الرؤية السردية . تعتمد الدراسة مقاربة تجمع بين التحليل السردي والمنظور السوسيولوجي، تمثل المدينة كفضاء يعكس التحولات الاجتماعية، والتصدعات النفسية، وصراعات الفرد داخل المجتمع الحضري.   كما تتناول المذكرة البعد الرمزية للعنوان، وتفاعل الشخصيات مع المدينة، التي تظهر ككيان نابض يوجه السلوك ويعكس الأزمات الاجتماعية والسياسية ونخلص إلى أن الفضاء المديني في الرواية يعد المرآة للذات الجزائرية المعذبة والواقع حضري مشوه بعد مرحلة عنف واضطراب . This thesis explores the urban space and its socio-cultural significance in the novel Requiem of the Cardinal by Algerian writer Salim Bhatka. It highlights how the city transforms from a neutral backdrop into an active element in shaping the narrative vision. The study adopts an approach that combines narrative analysis with a sociological perspective, portraying the city as a space that reflects social transformations, psychological fractures, and the individual’s struggles within the urban society. The thesis also addresses the symbolic dimension of the title and the interaction of characters with the city, which emerges as a living entity that influences behavior and mirrors social and political crises. Ultimately, the urban space in the novel is seen as a mirror of the tormented Algerian self and a distorted urban reality in the aftermath of a period marked by violence and unrest.
