Algerian Green Hydrogen Production Opportunities And Challenges In Light Of A Sustainable Energy System
Résumé: The energy transition has become a major issue for the next 30 years due to the inherent necessity to decrease global greenhouse gas emissions. This study aims at examining green hydrogen production opportunities in Algeria and various usage options. By analyzing the green hydrogen market, manufacturing methods, and potential costs The results of the study concluded that Algeria's existing oil and gas infrastructure (pipelines, liquefied gas terminals, etc.), industrial gas industry, outstanding wind and solar energy potential, and closeness to European markets make it a producer of green hydrogen. And it enables Algeria to not only expand and diversify its energy mix but also to maintain its part of the global energy market and fulfill growing local demand.
