Efl Learners’ Perceptions About The Use Of Audio-visual Aids In Teaching The Speaking Skill.
Résumé: The primary aim for EFL learners is to be able to speak English which enables them to express themselves and communicate effectively because English is considered as the first spoken language. The technological revolution has touched every field of life without any exception including the educational field, which leads to exploit it in teaching. Therefore, this research is held for the purpose of investigating EFL learners’ perceptions about the use of audiovisual aids in teaching speaking. In other words, it is conducted to answer the three research questions: (1) What are the obstacles that the learners face in using the AVA? (2) How do the audio-visual aids develop the learners’ speaking skills? (3) Are the AVA useful for both auditory and visual learners? From this point, a questionnaire was addressed to forty second year EFL students at MUC to investigate how students perceive the use of AVA in learning the speaking skill. The study examines the impact of audiovisual aids on learners’ speaking skills, including their preferences, challenges, and suggestions. The findings indicate that learners positively perceive the use of audiovisual aids in learning the speaking skill, which achieves the study's main objective.
