British Travellers To Morocco: The Dualism Of Gibraltar And The Strait During The Eighteenth And Nineteenth Century

Résumé: Morocco became of great interest to British travellers during the eghiteenth and nineteenth centuries due to the English occupation of Gibraltar in 1704. The number of travellers exceeded fifty, compared to only two travellers during the pre-occupation period, the journey of Englishman John Smith and the Scottish William Lithgow, as part of their grand voyages. In addition, there were some journeys as part of embassies, diplomatic missions, and trade.
