Résumé: This study aims to shed light on the role that the digital economy plays in promoting economic growth, as the Egyptian experience was chosen as one of the digitally promising Arab countries. To achieve the aforementioned goal, the descriptive analytical approach was relied upon, as well as the comparative approach, as well as the Arab Digital Economy Index for the year 2020, as well as the Networked Readiness Index for the year 2020 and 2021. This study concluded with a number of results, the most important of which are: Egypt is still somewhat far from the digital economy, compared to the Arab countries that take the lead, such as the Gulf states, The study also recommended the necessity of benefiting from the experiences of the leading Arab countries in the field, in order to be able to advance their economies
