Résumé: الملخص باللغة العربية: يعتبر الشيخ المهدي البوعبدلي واحدا من رموز المعرفة التاريخية في الجزائر، فقد تمكن هذا الباحث من نشر العديد من المخطوطات وتقديمها للقراء، ومن خلال دراسة محتوى كتاباته فإننا نجد بأن له نظرة شمولية للتاريخ خاصة الفترتين الحديثة والمعاصرة. وعلى حسب ابن خلدون فإن التاريخ فن عزيز المذهب جم الفوائد شريف الغاية اذ هو يوقفنا على أحوال الماضي من الأمم في أخلاقهم والأنبياء في سيرهم والملوك في دولهم وسياستهم، وهذا ما أراده المهدي البوعبدلي فعمل على المساهمة في الحفاظ على رسالة التاريخ وغاياته وهذا من خلال استقدام الماضي لفهم الحاضر وبناء المستقبل وهذا بإنقاض كنوز تاريخية لموروثنا الثقافي. إنّ هذه الدراسة التي نسعد بتصديرها تمثل خطوة في الرقي بالدراسات التاريخية، فهي تتناول بالدراسة أحد المصادر المحلية وتحاول قراءتها على ضوء مواصفات البحث التاريخي. الملخص باللغة الإنجليزية: Sheikh Al-Mahdi Al-Bouabdali is considered one of the symbols of historical knowledge in Algeria. This researcher was able to publish many manuscripts and present them to readers, and by studying the content of his writings, we find that he has a comprehensive view of history, especially the modern and contemporary periods. According to Ibn Khaldun, history is a cherished art, the madhhab. The benefits are worthy of honor, morals and the prophets in their biographies and the kings in their countries and their politics, This is what Al-Mahdi Al-Bouabdali wanted, so he worked to contribute to preserving the message of history and its goals, and this is by bringing the past to understand the present and building the future, and this by ruining the historical treasures of our cultural heritage. This study, which we are happy to export, represents a step in the advancement of historical studies.
