Fostering Reading Motivation The Case Of First -year –students Of English At Djillali Liabes University Sidi-bel-abbes
Résumé: The present study investigates on the field of reading skills where first -year-students of English at Djillali Liabes University of Sidi Bel-Abbes encountered difficulties while reading. The researcher noticed that motivation affected the students’ willingness to read and the interest of the topic to be learned. To the formulated hypotheses, many research tools were used to investigate the factors that fostered students’ reading motivation. Based on results obtained from data analysis, this study revealed that motivation helped the students to increase their understanding of an English text as well as the role of the teacher in motivating and integrating a supportive classroom environment for reading and learning English as a foreign language.
