Résumé: يهدف هذا البحث إلى كشف مظهر من مظاهر السياسة الفرنسية الاستيطانية في المجال الاجتماعي، من خلال استغلال المجاعات التي ضربت مناطق مختلفة من الجزائر مباشرة بعد الحرب العـــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــالمية الأولى، وكانت البلاد قد شهدت وضعا مماثلا في النصف الثاني من القرن التاسع عشر. وذلك بالتطرق للأسباب المفضية خاصة فيما يتعلق بسحب ملكية الأراضي من أصحابها، ثم توضيح مظاهرها في أنحاء مختلفة من البلاد وكذا تحديد نتائجها المختلفة على مستويات عديدة . في حين كان الأوربيون بعيدا عنها. الأمر الذي يدل على أنها كانت سياسة هدفها تجويع الشعب الجزائري لإجباره على الخضوع فزيادة على انعدام لقمة العيش انتشرت السرقة والأمراض والأوبئة، ولم يكن عندها من خيار للكثير من الجزائريين سوى الهجرة. الجزائر؛ الاستيطان؛ المجاعة؛ الضرائب؛ الأوبئة.
