Résumé: The Qur'anic discourse has always been an area of research ;this study entitled : the nominal ellipsis and its impact on clarifying the meaning in the Qur’anic discourse “Surat Al-Baqarah as a sample”,is a link in this chain of research. The objective of the study was to clarify the positions of nominal ellipsis in highlighting its various connotations in Surat Al-Baqarah, and its impact on strengthening the meaning, and consequently tasting the aesthetic aspects of the ellipted elements , considering that ellipsis is omitting of part or all of statement for an evidence . It does not occur arbitrarily, rather it is governed by conditions including: Evidence of ellipsis, unambiguity and as besides being of use. Surat Al-Baqarah in this study shows a lot of examples of nominal ellipsis .Besides succesinctness , ellipsis did have other rhetoric functions as sometimes omitting is more eloquent than stating. Ellipsis makes the intended meaning clearer and unambiguous and more aesthetic .For this reason it is deemed as one of the Quranic rhetoric linguistic miracles .
