Résumé: This study dealt with the problem of the role of new media in supporting digital citizenship among university students, where the study was conducted on a sample of students of the Department of Media and Communication at the University of KasdiMerbah and Ouargla and concluded a set of results, the most important of which are: Facebook and Instagram are mainly used by the majority to access the latest news, communicate with friends, and are used for entertainment and entertainment. Social networking sites are used to participate in digital citizenship in a large percentage, as the main reason for this lies in trying to strengthen digital culture and obtain communication, as many see it as a reliable source of information about digital security. The relationship between new media and digital citizenship is inevitably interrelated, as these media are the main entry point and supporter of digital citizenship.
