Résumé: Renewable energy is energy derived from natural resources that do not run out, do not pollute the environment and are constantly renewed, the most important of which is solar energy. To address the search for methods and methods of storage, including latent storage and physical storage We conducted an experimental study to store the latent and perceptible heat by the parabolic cylindrical solar center (PTC) using phase-changing materials (PCM) (paraffin) and sand in the state of Ouargla during the days of different seasons, where the solar radiation is concentrated by the center PTC where the absorbed heat is transmitted at the level of the absorption tube to The water, which in turn moves to the tank containing paraffin wax or sand, where the water’s heat is absorbed and then the phase change (solid-liquid) occurs, at the melting temperature of the paraffin chosen in this study, after that the temperature of the paraffin is raised, this process takes from Sunrise to sunset, then at sunset, PCM and sand release the absorbed heat throughout the night, where this heat is used to heat water for various domestic uses. Experimental results indicate that storage systems have the ability to recover thermal energy for latent storage using paraffin for 11 and a quarter hours, and for physical storage using sand for 10 hours. In this work, we found that the effectiveness of thermal energy recovery for latent storage using paraffin has an advantage over physical storage using sand in terms of heat recovery time
