Résumé: This study explores the role of digitalization in facilitating university services, using the progress platform as a case study. The study was conducted on a sample of students from the Department of Media and Communication Sciences at the University of Kasdi Merbah Ouargla, Algeria. The main objective of the study was to investigate the perceptions of university students regarding the concept of digitalization, the positive and negative aspects of the progress platform, and the role played by the university in promoting the values and dimensions of digitalization from the perspective of media and communication students. Research Questions: The study was guided by the main research question: • How does digitalization contribute to facilitating university services related to the progress platform from the perspective of students in the Department of Media and Communication Sciences at the University of Kasdi Merbah Ouargla? This main question was further broken down into sub-questions: • How do students of Media and Communication Sciences at Bourassa view the progress platform? • What are the motivations for using the Bourassa platform among students of Media and Communication Sciences at progress ? • How effective is the Bourassa platform in facilitating services for students of Media and Communication Sciences at progress ? Methodology: The study employed a descriptive survey approach, utilizing a questionnaire as the primary data collection tool. A purposive sampling technique was used to select a sample of 65 students from the Department of Media and Communication Sciences at the University of Kasdi Merbah Ouargla. Findings: The study yielded several key findings: • The results indicated that the most attractive features of the progress platform are ease of access to information, eliminating the need for physical files, and user-friendliness. • The study also revealed that the preferred language for the progress platform was Arabic. • The study confirmed that students in the Master's program in Public Communication at the University of Ouargla heavily utilize the progress platform due to its significance in their academic journey. Conclusion: The study highlights the positive impact of digitalization on facilitating university services, particularly through the implementation of platforms like Bourassa. The findings underscore the importance of considering student perceptions and preferences when designing and implementing digital solutions in higher education settings. Further research is recommended to explore the broader implications of digitalization on various aspects of university life, including teaching, learning, and research.
